While the full impact of COVID-19 on our Cornell community is still unknown, already it has significantly disrupted the lives of our students. Join Cornell University’s efforts to address the most urgent needs of our students experiencing financial hardship as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) global pandemic and social distancing.
Our students need support now more than ever.
Make a gift to one of these three critical areas to support our students:
Helps to cover emergency expenses not covered through financial aid or other university resources. Due to COVID-19 and Cornell’s transition to a virtual learning environment, travel and other related emergency costs are mounting for our students. We’ve had an increase from an average of 35 applications per month, to now more than 700 in one week. The need is extraordinary right now to provide critical support for our students who need it most.
Provides free, confidential access to food and personal care items to Cornell undergraduate and graduate students in need. Food insecurity (a lack of regular access to food) plagues approximately half of today's college students, and with the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on our students, access to food is even more critical today.
Provides Vice President Lombardi with critical funds to respond to urgent needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Right now, Annual Fund dollars are more valuable than ever as we address known needs and anticipate what may come. These funds can be released immediately to support our students, and because they are flexible, they can be directed to any area within the division.
