The Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science is boldly charting a course for the future, driven by a commitment both to develop state-of-the-art computing and information technologies and to study and understand the societal and human impact of these technologies. Our three distinguished departments—Computer Science, Information Science, and Statistics and Data Science—have top-ranked programs and acclaimed research. This structure fuels fruitful collaboration across disciplines, positioning Cornell as a leader at the intersection of computing and society.

The college’s academic footprint extends well beyond the university’s Ithaca campus. Cornell Bowers retains ties in New York City with Cornell Tech and partnerships with Weill Cornell Medicine—creating a powerful technology ecosystem that is unique in higher education.

  • $3,000will support student participation in undergraduate project teams, which provide unique opportunities to collaborate with teammates from across the university while earning academic credit.
  • $5,500will provide full funding for a rising sophomore to participate in CSMore, a three-week summer program that strengthens computer science fundamentals and fosters peer connections through collaborative projects.
  • $8,500will fully support one student’s BURE experiences in the 10-week summer session.
  • $10,000will bolster faculty start-up funding, allowing the dean to offer more competitive packages to strategically important faculty hires.
