Cornell Library Annual Fund

The Library Annual Fund supports our collections efforts. To meet the research and teaching needs of the Cornell community across the disciplines, our collections budget pays for access to a vast range of resources—text, images, data, and more in electronic and physical formats. Library collections reflect the total of human knowledge and represent all perspectives. We steward information and facts that help our students become informed and discerning citizens who will use their education to create change.

Librarians are available 24/7 to partner with students and faculty on their research. They provide valuable guidance and access to information, saving researchers time and stress—helping them dig deeper into their academic pursuits.

The library helps students develop their research skills and become members of an informed citizenry. Through workshops, lectures, and courses, the library guides students and researchers in identifying misinformation and effectively evaluating news sources and content.

The library is a home away from home for many students and faculty members. It is a critical “third space” beyond the dorm and the classroom, where Cornellians can find resources, collaborate on group projects, recharge, receive technical support, and make connections to resources and people. Our goal is to provide convenient and comfortable study spaces throughout the 18 libraries, ensuring that there is a perfect spot for “… any person … any study.”

Making the library and its materials as accessible as possible to our users is a key priority. We are investing in both physical and electronic resources that provide perpetual access for Cornellians.

We are committed to strengthening our collection to reflect the broad range of Cornell disciplines, as well as highly specialized needs in areas of subject-matter strengths.

Cornell University Library student workers play an integral role in the success of the library's day-to-day operations. Our annual fund provides these students with essential financial support, while developing marketable skills they can use after graduation.
