As a member of the Cornell Parents Committee, you will join a dedicated group of parents who believe in advancing Cornell’s mission through service and philanthropy. We count on our Parents Committee volunteers for their guidance, support, and shared perspectives to further the Cornell undergraduate experience. You will serve as an ambassador among Cornell parents, sharing your experiences and welcoming new parents into the Cornell family.
During our meetings and special events, you will have the opportunity to develop relationships with your fellow parents as well as with faculty, staff and campus leaders. The community that you build within the Cornell Parents Committee is one that can last long after your student has graduated.
Parents Committee members understand the impact of philanthropic support on Cornell’s mission and commit to continuing their family’s tradition of philanthropy with annual gifts of $10,000 and above to any of the Cornell Annual Funds or another University priority of their choosing. Your gift has an immediate impact on your student’s experience, and a lasting effect on the University.
As a valued volunteer, you will hear from University leaders and faculty as they share their views and insight on the Cornell experience. Parents Committee meetings include trainings to help you feel more comfortable in your volunteer role, and a focus on showing you the impact of your philanthropy at Cornell.
Through their volunteerism, our Parents Committee members strengthen the Cornell parent community, further the Cornell mission by encouraging fellow parents to join them in their philanthropy, and help students find opportunities and develop skills for when they leave the classroom. We encourage you to choose one or more of the following roles to advance Cornell:
